Oh those silly boys in blue (no they won’t catch me and you).

Filed under: ramble ramble — boba @ 11:35 am

Do you guys know what ‘intimate strangers’ are? I remember the phrase because this woman came on a BBC show with a list of new words. It’s those people who you see everyday – so much so that they become part of your life, but at the same time they’re still strangers. It maybe someone who gets the same bus as you, or someone who you see at the lunch queue every day.

This time last year I was just about to start work as an Xmas Temp at M&S. It’s in a shopping centre which is where I work now too! So remember my ‘regulars’ from last year? I see them everyday now too, especially cute calender club guy(CCCG). There is also millie’s cookie’s guy(MCG). It’s so weird how much you come to know about them, even though I swear I don’t pay them any special attention (really!). CCCG lives somewhere on the way to Geldhow (3A bus if you must know) and he had quite a conservative haircut last year but now he shaved it all off and has a mohawk which makes  me think he is going through a midlife crisis or something. Maybe he split up with his wife? I thought MCG was nice – he used to listen to music and read Penguin Classics on the bus back home but then once I overheard his conversation (it’s a small bus stop!) with this girl and he was talking about prostitutes in a derogatory way which makes me not like him anymore. But he still said HI to me which kind of makes you realise you all know each other in a way – I just find this concept weird!

Anyway, what’s your favourite fact about an intimate stranger you know?

And the red sun sinks (at last) into the hills of gold

Filed under: ramble ramble — boba @ 7:35 pm

Miss Specs awarded me with this:

Yay! Okay, so what we have to do is this:

Rules of the Award:

  • List five current obsessions.
  • Pass the award on to five more fabulous blogs.
  • On your post of receiving this award, make sure you include the person that gave you the award and link it back to them.
  • When you post your five winners, make sure you link them as well.
  • Don’t forget to let your winners know they won an award from you by leaving a comment on their blog.

(Yes, I just copied and pasted). Here goes – My five obsessions:

  • Shoes and Bags. (Yes, I copied and pasted that as well). My search for ‘the perfect pair of heels’ didn’t go that well, lol. I ended up (after endless browsing) falling in love with some heel-less shoes. These ones. I went to my local Schuh store and they said they had run out! And then they sent me to the city centre, who did have them, but not in my size. This was the day before Eid. And then they sent me to a really far away one and I just couldn’t be bothered :(
  • Websites like this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. I DON’T KNOW WHY!! They are really lame, but still I find myself checking them at least once a day.
  • My iPhone. Okay, I will shut up about it now. (BTW, it’s also to blame for my lack of blog posts).
  • A Certain Guy. Seriously, what is a teengae girl’s life without boys? It is nothing. So I’ve got to make the most of it because my teenageness runs out at the end of May. Anyways, back to the obsession. He is the ASDA trolley guy. I call him the ‘working class version of Prince William’ because he looks like what Prince William would look like if he wasn’t royalty. The other day, on my way back from work (I have to cross ASDA), I was just dawdling when I noticed him. Well, I didn’t see him, I just know when he’s around – like this weird aura thing (haha) so I looked up and there he was, in the car park, pushing trolleys, flicking back his golden hair and smiling to no one in particular. And I just stood still and kept looking at him. And then I realised this middle aged man sitting in  parked car looking at me looking at him. *blush* So I moved on. Eventually.
  • Russell Brand. I LOVED Russell when he first became a celeb, and then I forgot about him, and now I’m so into him, I can’t stop watching him on YouTube. Read his autobiography -it’s fab! He’s an awesome Twitter-er too. (And he looks hot in this pic).

I pass on this award to:

  1. Zeenu: Because her blog is so simple yet captivating.
  2. Musical Crayons: A new up and coming (mainly) music blog. I’ve always wanted a blog like this and if the author hadn’t had done this, I would have.
  3. Mocha: She disappeared and now she’s back. I think. Hopefully!
  4. UG: Because he’s actually funny. In a lame, boyish way.
  5. Stephen Fry. No explanation needed. But, if you really want one, it’s because he’s GENUINE. Which is what a lot of celebs aren’t. He’s incredibly witty, and funny and just thinking of him makes me want to watch A Bit of Fry And Laurie.

I tried not to tag anyone that had already been tagged. The layout of this post is a bit…grr, which is going to annoy me but I’m going to press publish anyway.

Hehe, me feeling naughty

So the bobster is making cake or atta or something along those lines, the girls are taking about kisses, sloppy ones. Yeah I know what you’re thinking, ew. But that’s how it is around here, incredibly random and momentarily captivating.

Nicked boba’s phone or as my bil would say iphoone hehe joker. Don’t really feel like updating my blog, doesn’t really reflect me anymore or so I think. Or maybe I’ve morphed into a really private individual that I always knew I was. I mean why do I even have a blog? Why does anyone for that matter …

I kinda feel like as though noone really knows me entirely, like certain people know certain things but not the whole picture which make me think I’m hiding something, and maybe I am.

Ooh hijacking boba’s phoone is fun, I should do it more often. I’m getting good at ramble ramble, maybe it’s the boba blog effect.

Now they’re talking about about Ayesha and sanna have turned French, urn no.

I like faizaani, I really do!

What would you do, if I asked you to sail away?

Should I revolve my light around you?

Filed under: ramble ramble — boba @ 8:24 pm

I just discovered a fantastic new blog, which I will not link because I think the author might get a tad embarrassed, but they know who they are (hopefully!). It just reminded me of summer things, lazy sundays and sweet strawberry lollipops. It reminded me that I need to get creative! I need to photoshop, take up photography, advance my very limited html skills. It reminded me to food blog. And read comics again. It reminded me that there a zillion things I haven’t done, haven’t planned for.

I am not prepared at all.

ThreeBautifulThings:

  1. If there’s one thing you must do, it is to lay down on a trampoline with five crazy people jumping up and down like maniacs around you.
  2. PERSONALISED GIFTS!
  3. Yellow lemon balloons.
